Measurements of water table height in the Parker River marsh located downstream of the railroad bridge. Measurements were taken every 5 minutes at each logger along a transect of water level loggers running perpendicular to the Parker River bank at the railroad site, MAR-PR-Wtable-RR for April-October 2015.
Measurements of water table height in the upper Parker River Typha sp. marsh. Measurements were taken every 5 minutes at each logger along a transect of water level loggers running perpendicular to the Parker River bank at the Typha site, MAR-PR-Wtable-T, for April - November 2015
Multi-year transects, beginning in 1995, of the Parker River Plum Island Sound Estuary conducted at dawn and dusk, containing dissolved oxygen, conductivity, temperature, percent saturation, pH, DIC and pCO2 measurements. Differences between dawn and dusk measurements can be used to determine the water metabolism and corresponding estimates of gross primary production, total system respiration and net ecosystem production.
Water chemistry including nutrient concentrations for various forms of N, P, C, as well as suspended sediments and light extinction coefficients, was determined from bi-annual nutrient transects along the Plum Island Sound estuary from the Parker River Dam to the mouth of the sound. Grab samples were taken at 11 sites along a 24 km transect from the mouth of the estuary to as near the dam at the head of the estuary as poosible. These samples have generally been collected in Spring and Fall and are done in conjunction with metabolism transects measuring dissolved oxygen levels. The Spring
Monthly sea level data for NOAA/NOS station 8443970, Boston, Massachusetts. The tide station is located on the right side of the U.S. Coast Guard Building adjacent to Northern Avenue Bridge. NOAA/NOS Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services (CO-OPS)
Monthly sea level data for NOAA/NOS station 8418150, Portland, Maine. Tidal bench marks directions from north bound Interstate 295 in Portland, take the Waterfront Exit (Alt. U.S. 1) to Commercial Street, then continue NE along Commercial Street for 2.4 km (1.5 mi) to the Maine State Pier, the last pier- warehouse along the waterfront. The bench marks are located within 1.6 km (1 mi) radius of tide station. The tide gage is located in the south corner on the off shore end of the Maine State Pier. NOAA/NOS Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services (CO-OPS).
Time series of nutrient grab samples collected by hand (i.e. not with the Sigma autosampler) with frequency ranging from weekly to monthly between 2001 and 2016. Sites include three headwater catchments of contrasting land use (forest, urban, wetland), and the mouth of the two main watersheds draining to the Plum Island Estuary (Ipswich and Parker R.). An additional time series was collected for a site in the Upper Ipswich at North Reading and at Fish Br. in Boxford – this sampling was ended in 2002. All Samples were analysed for NO3, NO2, NH4, PO4, TDN and DOC. Si was analyzed until 2002.
